VietNamNet Bridge – A 12-year-old boy in Dak Nong Province in Vietnam’s Central Highlands was playing with a knife with his cousin when the blade slipped from the handle and entered the victim’s forehead.
The victim was Huynh Thanh Tung, 12, a resident of Dak Ru commune, Dak R’Lap district of Dak Nong province. The accident occurred on July 12.
The boy was brought to Dak Nong General Hospital, where doctors said the 4cm-wide blade was about 3 cm deep in the middle of the victim’s forehead, leading to brain injury.
After a nearly 2 hoursof surgery, doctors successfully took the knife out of Tung’s head. The patient was in stable condition.
