James Bond news: Guess which veteran crooner has written a ‘dynamic’ 007 theme?

That person is none other than Engelbert Humperdinck.

The star told the Evening Standard: “My last record producer in England sent me this song called I Don’t Want to Call This Goodbye and it sounds very Bond-ish.

“I’m hoping that maybe they’ll take it and use it as a signature for one of the movies.”

He added: “If they did I’d love to re-record it and make it bigger. [It’s a] dynamite song.”

Englebert isn’t the only person who’s thrown his hat in the ring for the next James Bond song.

Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher have also written a song together that they apparently want to put forward to producers.

Speaking with the BBC, Paul said: “I want to write a James Bond theme tune.

“I’ve got this half a song that me and Noel Gallagher worked on and I think it would be great for a Bond theme.”

He added: “There’s a bit of minor key going on. That would be an ambition definitely.”

Despite his enthusiasm for the project, the 25th official James Bond film is still waiting to see if Daniel Craig will sign on again.

It still doesn’t have a release date.
